Mrs. Anna Schiebe M.M. Louisiana State University, B.M.E. South Dakota State University
Mrs. Schiebe graduated from Louisiana State University with her Master's in Music- Vocal Performance in May of 2014. She received her Bachelor's of Music Education from South Dakota State University in May of 2012. A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Mrs. Schiebe gained her love for music in 2nd grade singing in church. Her love of music grew as she participated in every musical activity in highschool from All-State Choir to show choir, jazz band, concert band, marching band in which she was the drum major two years in a row. As she moved into college in Brookings, South Dakota, she decided to pursue vocal music. Mrs. Schiebe participated and placed in many vocal competitions, choral events, and small groups. She also joined a sorority in which she held six positions throughout the four years she attended SDSU.
After her sophomore year in college, Mrs. Schiebe decided to pursue opera and attend a local summer opera program in Spearfish, South Dakota. It was a great experience and the following summer, she traveled to France to take part in another opera, La Grande Duchesse de Gerolstein. She also performed in scenes such as Alcina, Die Fledermaus, Le Nozze di Figaro, Cosi fan tutte, and Rape of Lucretia within that same year . In her senior year she had the opportunity to play Alice in Alice in Wonderland and assistant direct Chicken Little. After Mrs. Schiebe received her Bachelor's of Music Education, she decided to pursue her love of singing at LSU for her Master's of Music- vocal performance. In the summer of 2013, she traveled to San Francisco and performed the role of Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream at the Bay Area Opera Theatre Institute. In her final year of her Master's Mrs. Schiebe performed the role of Mrs. Mister in The Cradle Will Rock with the Louisiana State University Opera Theatre in May 2014. In June 2014, she performed Pamina in Die Zauberflöte with the Chicago Summer Opera program. Mrs. Schiebe continues to pursue her career in opera on a daily basis and plans to maintain her voice in order to audition for opera companies around the world while she teachers.
Mrs. Schiebe has been teaching students of all ages for years, whether it be piano, voice lessons, or in a classroom setting. She student taught in Sioux City, Iowa and was exposed to many different environments of learning and gained an even bigger love for teaching. She is excited to continue her teaching career at Most Blessed Sacrament as the music teacher and is looking forward to getting to know all the new students as well as creating a fun, challenging, and educational environment! On March 29, 2018 Mrs. Schiebe and her husband welcomed James Thomas Schiebe into their family! Sadie Grace Schiebe joined the Schiebe clan on June 30, 2019!
